The End of Summer

So, somehow I just really missed the September train. I have at least 4 posts I was working on last month and they never got finished.

Oh well. The end of summer started at the mid-end of August. I started my student teaching, which at that point was just showing up at school, watching, and going home. It kind of drove me crazy. I didn't realize that it would, or else I wouldn't have gone until the official start date in September.

Now, both I and my student teaching partner, Jamie, go every day. We have taught a few lessons, and are starting to teach more full-time. We will still only teach A-days for the rest of the semester, and only sometimes B-days when our cooperating teacher, Mr. Lemon, is gone. It goes back and forth between pretty okay and really stressful.

Some of our lesson planning at school.

It's kind of similar with James right now. He's taking 3 classes which are Geomorphology, Hydrogeology, and Calculus 1. It doesn't sound like it would be too hard, taking only three classes, two of which are related to his major. But the calculus is really super hard. Even if was just taking that one class, I think it would still be a tough semester.

However, even though the transition from summer to fall is not fun, I am still really glad I no longer have homework or letter grades. I'm also glad I don't have to take tests. It's also really nice to be able to come home at 3 or 4 before James. And times are stressful for James but I know he's glad about lots of things too, like the fact that his small class load gives him more work hours and time at home. And also probably the fact that he can work on Calculus at home with me, instead of at the dreaded math lab. (I used to live there, once.)

And this. I really like when this happens.

What I sometimes find in the morning when I wake up to go to school :)

Something else I am glad about when it comes to fall is how the sky and mountains look when it's rainy and overcast.

Well, we are so so so so so so so so so sad that summer is over. But there are still fun times ahead. Onward!
